Wrinkle relaxers are purified neurotoxins that quiet the specific muscles causing a line to fold into the skin. Treat the cause and the line softens; leave the muscle alone and the line keeps deepening.
The skill is in dosing and mapping. Everyone’s muscles are a different size and strength, and an off-the-shelf dose is why some people end up frozen and others see no change at all. We map your movement first, dose to that, and review at two weeks.

The Product
Xeomin
Xeomin is one of the two wrinkle relaxers we hold. Like the other it is a botulinum toxin type A and it works the same way — quieting the specific muscle that folds a line into the skin. What differs is the formulation, how quickly it takes effect, how long it tends to last and the unit strength, which is why it carries its own per‑unit price.

Daxxify
Daxxify is the other wrinkle relaxer we hold. It is a botulinum toxin type A and works the same way as Xeomin — quieting the specific muscle that folds a line into the skin — but it is formulated differently and tends to last longer for some people, which is usually what decides between the two.

The Visit
What to expect
Mapping
We watch how your face actually moves and mark the injection points to that, not to a template. Around 20 minutes for a first visit.
Treatment
A series of very fine injections. It takes about ten minutes and most people go straight back to work.
Two-week review
The effect builds over three to fourteen days. We see you at two weeks to check the result and top up if a muscle needs more.
Before & After
How to prepare, and what to do after
A relaxer appointment takes minutes, but what you do either side of it changes how cleanly it settles.
Before your visit
- If your doctor is happy for you to pause them, stop aspirin, fish oil and high‑dose vitamin E for about a week. Never stop prescribed blood thinners without asking the doctor who prescribed them.
- No alcohol for 24 hours.
- Arrive with no makeup on the forehead, brows or around the eyes.
- Tell us if you have had a relaxer anywhere in the last three months, and where.
- Allow two to three weeks before an event — the effect is not immediate.
After your treatment
- Stay upright for four hours. Do not lie face‑down or have a facial or massage that day.
- Do not rub or massage the treated muscles for 24 hours — it can move the product where it is not wanted.
- No gym, sauna or steam room for 24 hours.
- The small raised bumps at each injection point settle within about an hour.
- Movement starts to soften at three to seven days and reaches its full effect around two weeks. We review at two weeks, not before.

Questions
Common questions
Will I look frozen?
Not if the dose is right. A frozen look comes from over-treating, usually of the forehead. We would rather start lower and add at your two-week review than overshoot, because there is no way to reverse it early — you wait for it to wear off.
How long before I see anything?
Movement starts to soften around day three and the full effect is there by two weeks. Do not judge the result before then.
How long does it last?
Typically around three to four months, though this varies with the product, the dose and how strong the muscle is. Daxxify is formulated to last longer for some people. Heavy exercise and a fast metabolism tend to shorten it.
What is the difference between the products?
They are all botulinum toxin type A and they work the same way. They differ in formulation, in how quickly they take effect, in how long they tend to last and in unit strength — which is why the per-unit price differs. We will recommend one based on the area and on how you responded before.
Is there any downtime?
None to speak of. Small red bumps at the injection points settle within an hour. Avoid lying flat, heavy exercise and facials for the rest of the day.
Who should not have it?
It is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding, or with certain neuromuscular conditions. We take a full history at the consultation and will tell you if it is not appropriate for you.
